8 Things The World's Most Successful People All Have In Common
Eric Barker stashed this in Diabolical Plans For World Domination
Funny, I don't think of a 60 hour workweek as a relentless pace.
What did they all have in common? A relentless pace of work.
“Sooner or later,” Pritchett writes, “the great men turn out to be all alike. They never stop working. They never lose a minute. It is very depressing.”

- Stay Busy
- Just Say No
- Know What You Are
- Build Networks
- Create Good Luck
- Have Grit
- Make Awesome Mistakes
- Find Mentors
Great list, but I think it is in the wrong order. "Stay Busy" should be the LAST item on the list, not the first. Being busy in high-achievers is a sign that they've found their awesome obsession. For the rest of us, busy-ness is often an EXCUSE to avoid saying no, knowing ourselves, making awesome mistakes, finding mentors, etc..
That's true, it's not hard at all to stay busy.
Finding mentors, however -- that's hard!
Um, are we starting to get SPAM on PandaWhale, or am I just missing some deep ironic commentary?
Right you are, Ernie. Working on cleaning it up!
Doesn't "Just Say No" conflict with the advice to "Build Networks", particularly since they refer the giver mentality?
It's a fine line to walk. Sometimes just say no, sometimes build networks.
