Saying it is one thing. If you want to make use of it, you have to itemize and define the alleged regret. Otherwise, it’s just a blanket expression we use to address unfortunate or uncomfortable situations for which we may or may not actually hold ourselves accountable. I am intent on holding myself accountable, oh yes. I am responsible and ready to acknowledge it. And since I also want to learn from it, I made a detailed list explaining each miserable mistake to myself.
