Another example in which the costs and benefits of the "sharing economy" turn out to be based on lack of disclosure of the full costs which are AS ALWAYS supposed to be borne by the individual worker alone.
That sounds very worker unfriendly.
Now that this comes up, I'm surprised the insurance part hasn't come up earlier, say AirBNB. You rent your place out, renter accidentally is the cause of damage, insurance refuses to pay, because they are always looking for an out.
In Airbnb's case, Airbnb has been the one who paid. I guess it doesn't happen that frequently.
In Uber and Lyft's case, there seems more potential for hurting humans.
