Shark Tank Success Stories explains:
How many ways can you customize your shoe laces, and in how many color pattern variations? The idea of using different colored shoe laces is nothing new and something I remember my own kids doing over 10 years ago. What was interesting at the time was about every week or so they would change them around from the half a dozen colors they had to choose from. The entrepreneur behind the U Lace Brand is Tim Talley, who is destined to change the way millions of people lace up their shoes. According to the U-Lace website, there's already over 40 colors of laces to choose from, and over 40 known lacing patterns that guarantees a very customized look all your own.
The U Lace is already distributed in over 40 countries, so this is far from a New Start-up for the newest Shark Tank product. The cost is only $3.49 for 6 U Laces per pack, which is also a huge positive for keeping these reasonably priced.
U Lace is also one of the Top 100 Finalist for the FedEx Small Business Grant Contest. This contest will award 10 total Business Grants, with the Grand Prize winner receiving $25,000.00 to further expand their business. The voting closes March 24, 2014, so get on over there and help this Shark Tank Product receive an additional $25k in funding.
Mark Cuban funded the deal: $200k for 35%.
