Amazon Web Services Rolls Out WorkSpaces DaaS Offering...

While the monthly costs from $35 to $75/month might seem expensive for non-developers, having on demand access to machines of your choice and a fully configured environment safely tucked away, even for daily use, is pure convenience.   I'm not sure it'd work for gaming, but I can easily see a couple of random big screen 4k tvs with wireless mice and keyboards connected to your environment as the new "workstation" provision as a high end development shop. 

Especially as 4k screens come down in price.

I wonder what compelled Amazon to roll this out right now?

Gotta respect that they keep innovating.
