Michael Phelps is incredible.

18 gold medals, 22 medals total. Born to swim.

He told his mom that if she wants to go to Rio in 2016 he will buy her a ticket but he will not be competing there.

I think the quality I most admire is his ability to leave the sport.

He'll leave the competiion but he will still be around to inspire, right?

Definitely. I met him in 2004 briefly at a fan event; he has been an inspiration ever since.
