Google is buying Frommer's from publisher John Wiley & Sons Inc. JWB -0.52% The purchase price wasn't disclosed and the deal hasn't yet closed. People with knowledge of the deal said it is worth less than $66 million, meaning it wouldn't trigger an automatic review by antitrust authorities.

They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill The Beast.
Any predictions on what the will/will not do with it and whether that will ever come to fruition/really work?
Blend it with Zagats and Maps and other Google Local offerings.

David, that's a good point:
Though the content from Frommer’s could eventually be used in Google travel search — which is built on flight search technology from ITA Software, the company that Google bought last year — it will now be used for Google’s local search.
