What part does Conan play?

I'm guessing he's a beach-goer.

Most of the Syfy-related focus this summer has been on the July 30 premiere of the Sharknado sequel, which is kind of a shame because it means the latest installment in Roger Corman’sSharktopus saga, Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda, has glided under our radar. Consider this post our apology.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sharktopus (starring Eric Roberts as Dr. Nathan Sands, obviously), here is the Wikipedia description of the first film:

The U.S. Navy commissions a group known as “Blue Water” to genetically engineer a half-shark, half-octopus for combat. During a demonstration attacking drug traffickers off of Santa Monica, the beast escapes the control of its creators and makes its way to Puerto Vallarta. Hunted by Blue Water and a television crew, the monster attacks numerous beach-goers. Sharktopus is eventually defeated by detonating explosives embedded in its brain.

And now, somehow, Sharktopus is back, and he’s doing battle with a half-pterodactyl/half-barracuda that is waging an aerial assault on him and the world’s population of bikini-clad women. Will Sharktopus make it out alive? PROBABLY. And even if he doesn’t he’ll probably be back anyway. BUT STILL. Sharktopus … Pteracuda … this summer … two hybrid monsterfish enter the ocean … one hybrid monsterfish leaves. As nature intended.

From the comments:  My theory, now days the execs at Syfy just lock themselves in a room with just a shit ton of cocaine and whiskey and a notebook for a weekend and for the rest of the year they cherry pick the most baffling premises that come up and start making movies.

Wait, so this is really a movie?! Oh my.

I mean, there was a movie called Sharktopus from 2010:
