Michael Mina opens Bourbon Steak & Pub in Santa Clara’s new Levi’s Stadium

Be sure to check out the pics of the rotisserie wall that can hold an ENTIRE OX. And the 400-gallon lobster cauldrons. If you don't have a Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire feeling, you must not be a history fan.

Geez. So decadent!

There is a catch, however, for fans visiting the stadium during San Francisco 49ers home games.

On those select Sundays, Bourbon Steak & Pub will be closed to the general public before and during the game. That is because it will transform into Michael Mina’s Tailgate, a members-only, all-inclusive affair available only to seat holders. Membership costs $5,000. After the game, it will open to the public. Mina expects to serve 1,000 people before the game, and the same amount after.

But on the other 356 days of the year — or whatever the number turns out to be, given the playoff situation — the two restaurants are open to the public. Bourbon Steak consists of 99 seats, and Bourbon Pub consists of another 91, but the total capacity of the entire space on game day is 630.

The biggest spectacle in the restaurant isn’t one of the 400-gallon (!) lobster pots, but it is the custom-built rotisseriewall. About 13 feet tall, a wood-fire rotisserie separates the two floors. There is a small rotisserie near the ground equipped for porchetta and chickens, as well as a vertical one with 22 spits, resembling the Zipper at the carnival.

Oh, right, the rotisserie wall.

It's as if they had infinite budget and zero shame in making it as over the top as could be.

Joyce says we're going to go visit sometime when there's not a game. Will report back.
