I'm not the nutball here, it is my friends who are oddly prone to suddenly gifting me with random ingredients!

I used this method to peel the chestnuts:

It is a bit dangerous, but does work great! I would say to only microwave about 6 at a time, that's about as many as you can peel before they start to cool off and then the hairy membrane inside will start sticking to the nut.
