I think the book is largely going to be about what we might call the "Quarterback Industrial Complex"... but the irony is that they all look up the most to the QBs who had the LEAST exposure to the adulation and the attention at a young age. Football fans love Aaron Rodgers (forgetting that he was drafted in the 1st round) and Tom Brady, Steve Young and Warren Moon, Doug Flutie and Kurt Warner. In some ways we scorn the Alex Smiths and RG3s and Matt Staffords who are the products of the QB Industrial Complex.
Great article about patience, Joyce.
“I got to sit and learn and be with the disappointment,” Rodgers says. “Those experiences can either strengthen your character or make you really bitter.”
