As many have pointed out before, the Warriors had to do something.

The Warriors add substantial back-end money in this trade, so it's not about carving out cap space. The Warriors aren't getting better immediately.

But they showed they can set up a plan, then make a bold, hold-your-breath move to try to further the plan. That's new for the Lacob organization.

Agreed, this is a step in the right direction.

But the Warriors have a loooooong way to go.

And things are going to get worse before they get better.
