I'm reading Alex Knapp's enjoyable article, and liked this line from JLP, which I read in his voice:

In my experience, communication is a matter of patience and imagination. I would like to believe that these are qualities that we have in sufficient measure.

Well communicated. So here's the five lessons:

  1. Speak to people in the language they understand.

  2. When you're overwhelmed, ask for help.

  3. Always value ethical actions over expedient ones.

  4. Challenge your team to help them grow.

  5. Don't play it safe -- seize opportunities in front of you.

Knapp also has five lessons from James T Kirk.

You test well, Devin. What do you think? :)

It needs a lot of work of course, but I think the basic idea is pretty cool. I've had some ideas using TowerJS a Node framework, building out something better than Wordpress but in Node, and this could be a key social aspect that wordpress is lacking.

Guessing you're using something like Php? I'm just over in Menlo Park, we should meetup.. I'll drop you an email

Yes, we're using PHP, and we're adding more JavaScript to the application every day.

I love the idea of "better than WordPress" by being more social.

We should definitely talk more about this.
