Han Solo Spinoff in the Works With Lego Movie Directors
J Thoendell stashed this in Film
Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the unstoppable duo who gave us 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie, are now set to direct an upcoming Star Wars spinoff film.
The new Star Wars anthology film, which will be written by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan, will focus on a young Han Solo and how he became the smuggler Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi met in Star Wars: Episode IV—A New Hope. (Note this is not the standalone Star Wars film that just lostFantastic Four director Josh Trank.)
“We promise to take risks, to give the audience a fresh experience, and we pledge ourselves to be faithful stewards of these characters who mean so much to us,” Lord and Miller said in a statement. “This is a dream come true for us. And not the kind of dream where you’re late for work and all your clothes are made of pudding, but the kind of dream where you get to make a film with some of the greatest characters ever, in a film franchise you’ve loved since before you can remember having dreams at all.”
This really gets people used to new Star Wars movies coming out every year.
That's the brilliance of Disney.
