This is so true. Developers keep trying to find ways to make Javascript behave in the way that they feel it should, and the result is a proliferation of tools and even languages that are successful only in changing the flavor of the dysfunction.
They should have mentioned Dart in this. Or maybe I just think that Dart is more significant than it is because I have to deal with its shortcomings all the time.

That is a very good line.
JavaScript should not be all things to all people. Ability to do fewer things is better.
And that's coming from me.
