Our entire political discourse in Silicon Valley sometimes seems to be about Uber: whether it's killing jobs and transit, or points the way to a more equitable future, or both. But it's important for us to get our heads out of the Bay and remember that the VAST majority of Americans in every age group still drive alone almost all of the time.

It's an interesting thought experiment to think about what happens to all those lone drivers if they can have on demand self driving cars take them anywhere they want to go at a reasonable price.
