Growing gourmet mushrooms in Tennessee

Ever wonder where those gourmet "wild" mushrooms come from? Probably a growing room like the ones in these photos. Contrary to popular jokes, few of them use manure as their growing medium!

We had a mushroom farm near our house.  Fascinating.  I did some foraging for mushrooms but I turned out to be so bad I never eat wild mushrooms.  I do have the easily identifiable hen of the woods here and in my last house, but since I have been so stigmatized by the mushroom dudes saying, "No, you'll die," every time I picked a perfect looking specimen, I don't dare eat anything.   I'll pay the ten bucks and buy them. 

Dawn is it that you have no time to figure out which mushrooms are the good ones?

Or no desire to learn this since paying the ten bucks is easy?

Oh, I'd love to learn, but you only get to mess this up once.  My Russian friends are masters... an Italian grandfather always came and raided my oak trees in the city... these arts are really, really learned.  I tried...people every year die making their one mistake.  There are some lines you do not cross...

Even so, I get this wrong!  I won't even plant them outside on logs.
