our sun is estimated to burn out in 5,000,000,000 years? and we're planning for it now??? humanity has only been around for 200,000 years, and only civilized in the last 6000. i like that we think we'll make it that far! that is an optimistic species planning ahead!!!
You're right, that's a ridiculous thing to plan for when we have important things to do right now.
I can't even wrap my head around how long 5 billion years is.
And I can't even predict what's going to happen 5 years from now.
