First spirit-crushing moment: It is 1400 light years away. So even if we developed some laser-based communication method, we would have to wait 2800 years to get a response to any communication.
On the bright side, with improved telescopes and technology stuff, maybe we can look for signs of life in the next few years. We could actually get an answer to the question "is anyone else out there?"
