I've been amazed by how much EMOTION has been unleashed by this Go match. There seems to be a specific bittersweet aesthetic around the realization that we might have just witnessed the inevitable eclipse of our species. In a beautiful irony, that aesthetic is most completely described by the Japanese term "wabi-sabi" defined here:
Wabi-Sabi is a wonderfully descriptive word.Â
Wabi-sabi (侘 寂 ?) represents Japanese aesthetics and a Japanese world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".
