Here is my theory as an engineer who recently interviewed with a lot of Europeans at Google: big companies in Silicon Valley are too hard to compete with in terms of risk-return and also lifestyle (hint: we have sunshine).
Are there no places in Europe that have such good climate?
I was thinking the challenge is one of critical mass (are there enough startups to attract people?) and one of economics (do the entrepreneurs get to keep most of their gains?).
