This:

Arya, Sansa, and Bran were all young when this show started, and they have for a variety of reasons been forced to rely on the help of others in order to move forward. But Arya and Bran have now reached the end of their training, and Sansa has pulled herself from under Littlefinger’s control in the interest of taking a more active role in her future. The Stark children are living up to the example set by their father, brother, and mother, which is both intensely satisfying and worrying given what happened when those three committed to their respective paths.

Alt Shift X explains season 6 episode 5:

More Emergency Awesome Game of Thrones s6e5:

OMG this episode.

The Feels!

I can't even.

A lot going on in this episode.

So many questions!

I don't understand the white walker scenes at all.

Going to have to rewatch them.

What does the three eyed Raven mean that Bran has to become him?

And did present Bran create Hodor specifically for this moment?

And how the heck are Meera and Bran going to survive?

On the white walkers:

So the White Walkers are basically a doomsday weapon created by the Children of the Forest to kill man, who they were at war with. The White Walkers then seem to grow out of control, which was probably why they made peace with Man in the first place. So do the White Walkers not have any other motive other than to just kill every living thing in the world? No other hidden agenda?

Winter is coming, and Summer is dead.  Farewell, erstwhile direwolf!

I don't like the way they're killing direwolves this season.

Lots of buildup for very little payoff so far.

At least Ghost and Nymeria are still alive.

I also didn't like how after taking so much time with Bran they rushed through this episode.

Why was he warning to the White Walkers alone??

In this episode we learned the origins of the Faceless Men, the White Walkers, and Hodor.

I can't even.

Not sure about the magic horn. What's that about?

And won't Bran passing through the Wall make it possible for the white walkers to pass through the wall too?

That's the rub, literally, given what we know so far.

So basically Bran is going to lead to the destruction of the wall?

Bad Bran!!

Unless of course destroying the wall leads to finding that magic horn.

I miss Hodor already.

More on Joramun's Horn from Alt Shift X:

Great find!! "Kind of like nukes in a cold war."

Right! You know this is going to be a factor at some point.

That's what I love about Game of Thrones.

They really pay attention to details.

How many kings have died so far this season?

Roose Bolton (my crush), Balon Greyjoy....

Was Roose a king?

Doran was a king. I believe he died this season.

Roose, alas,  was just Warden o' the North.

And therefore it was just patricide not regicide.

I wonder if Dany killing all those khals count? Are khals Kings?

From a different VF article:

So what does that have to do with the future of the White Walkers? Well, though the show hasn’t necessarily done a great job of explaining this, the Wall is also chock full of magic. George R.R. Martin hasn’t gone into exact specifics, but he did say that “more than ice went into the raising of the Wall. Remember, these are fantasy novels.” Although the Wall is so old its creation has passed into legend, the general consensus is that thousands of years ago a Stark named Bran (nicknamed Bran the Builder) erected the Wall with the magical help of the Children of the Forest as the ultimate defense against the White Walkers. In the books, once again, it’s Coldhands who helps explain that magic. When they meet, Meera asks Sam why he didn’t bring the mysterious Ranger through the Wall along with Gilly and the baby.

Holy smokes, what if our Bran IS Bran the Builder now that he knows how to go back in time to change things?

I'm still blown away that Bran created Hodor.

Making my head spin wondering if it's a paradox.

G.R.R.M. is an evil genius.

He's definitely a genius. Although now the show us spoiling the books!

Oooh, this:

Spawn of Ramsay!

It would be just like this show to do that, too.

Why Ramsay is doomed soon:

Like I wasn't worried enough.  Under the control of others or self-empowered, the Starkes are gonna deal.

(Hey, intense how Leaf pulled an I Am Legend.)

Leaf?

Starks deal.

Jon knows how to fight, Sansa knows how to play the game, Arya is building her assassin skills, and Bran can warg and go back in time. Together they're like a superhero team.

Leaf clearly felt guilty over her part in creating what would turn out to be a huge threat to every single race in the Seven Kingdoms, and later in the episode gave her life for it, blowing herself up and taking a load of Walkers with her to provide Bran and Meera to escape.http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/game-of-thrones-season-6-episode-4-a7042836.html

Oh, Leaf is one of the children!

Are there any more children left? They could be key in defeating the white walkers.

And why did the children trust Bran?

And did Hodor know this whole time that Bran created him? Poor Hodor.

TOO SOON.

What if the White Walkers win and take over Westeros?

How cool would the final scene be of the night's king walking up to the iron throne and instead of sitting on it, he just destroys it. It would show how pointless the game of thrones was. How this fight over this chair was the downfall of all men.

Tyrion is the bridge:

Tyrion was always the bridge for me. The bridge between Starks and Lannisters. The bridge between Lannisters and Targaryens. The bridge between Targaryens and Starks. The bridge between being good at playing the game of thrones and having a good heart at the same time. The bridge between Essos and Westeros. The bridge between Ice and Fire.
