The entire Nazi war machine, including Hitler, was taking methamphetamines, cocaine, and oxycodone on a daily basis during the blitzkrieg. Modern armies no longer march on their stomachs, they march on their pharmaceuticals.
Addictive drugs probably saved us all. Perhaps opioids have a place in history, too.
