California strata

I recently came up with this recipe, because I wanted to make a brunch dish that is filling (aka cheap), cool, and unique to California.
1/2 lb sourdough bread (half a loaf), cubed
9 eggs
2 cups milk
8 oz Colby-Jack cheese, grated
5 oz stick Hawaiian sausage (or chorizo)
1 cup chopped cooked broccoli
.5 cup sliced mushrooms
.25 cup minced green onions or 2 T fresh rosemary
Place bread cubes in a 13 x 9 casserole dish -- they should just barely cover the bottom but it won't seem like nearly enough. Beat eggs, add milk, then fold in all other ingredients. Pour over bread. Bake at 350 for an hour. Let it rest for 10 minutes out of the oven and then serve.
