Facebook delves deeper into search
Eric Barker stashed this in Facebook
Great picture, especially the LIKE link. :)
Eric needs to use the PandaWhale bookmarklet to auto-import images.
This is my favorite paragraph in the article:
If the engineer is looking to make the search box on Facebook more useful, he will face plenty of obstacles. Users see and rate only a fraction of the Web’s content -- mostly material that is new -- so Facebook may have a difficult time including more obscure content in search results.
I love that Facebook has only put two dozen engineers on the "problem of search".
From my recollection, that's also roughly the size of their "typeahead" team.
No way Facebook is taking on Google in search. http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-is-going-after-google-in-search-but-that-doesnt-mean-what-you-think-2012-3
