Imgur.com was launched in February 2009 and is hosted on Amazon Web Services.
Monetization: Imgur rolled out ads 6 months after launch, and started offering freemium Pro accounts ($24/year) in early 2010.
Distribution: Reddit has always been a huge driver of traffic to Imgur.
