I missed the news when Facebook passed a billion monthly actives a month ago:
Since Facebook launched, it has seen 1.13 trillion Likes, 140.3 billion friend connections, 219 billion photos uploaded, 17 billion location-tagged posts (including check-ins) and over 62.6 million songs (played 22 billion times).
Mark Zuckerberg's letter about this about the billion is short and sweet.
Noteworthy: 60% of Facebook's monthly active users are on mobile smartphones.
By comparison, Twitter's 7 million daily active U.S. users seems tiny.
