Resembles something out of a Rube Goldberg Machine.

That little black box probably has something coming out that pushes the lightbulb.

I guess the lightbulbs wires are hooked up to a sequencer of some kind. The kinetic motion and light are incidental, timed, but unrelated. Really cool project. Makes me want to play around with accelerometers and LEDs in like... pyrex balls or something.
