The New York Times spent 10 months investigating business incentives awarded by

hundreds of cities, counties and states. Since there is no nationwide accounting

of these incentives, The Times put together a database and found that

local governments give up:

So now what? 

 I think it's a race. How quickly can Multinationals take advantage of US citizens compared to how fast US citizens can acquire skills to remain globally competitive.

It's not a race on which I'd bet for US citizens. 

That's the crux, right? Communities are sacrificing to get jobs, and those jobs are ephemeral. 

Obviously, the pro-democracy thing is to hold politicians and companies accountable; but who's going to do that? Perhaps Votizen or some startups could target that instead of general election voting.
