The reality of fear: Courage is not the absence of fear.
Adam Rifkin stashed this in Fear

You're not scared of the dark. You're scared of what's in it.
You're not afraid of heights. You're afraid of falling.
You're not afraid of the people around you. You're just afraid of rejection.
You're not afraid to love. You're just afraid of not being loved back.
You're not afraid to let go. You're just afraid to accept the reality that s/he's gone.
You're not afraid to try again. You're just afraid of getting hurt for the same reason.
THis is a great one!!!! And insane how all of our fears hold us back.
Suzannah, I agree.
But it shows that most of overcoming our fears is within ourselves.
you are not scared of the dark. you are scared of what you THINK is in it. you are so afraid of what might happen that you forget that it might not.
That's right -- our minds make the fear much, much worse.
I'm afraid of heights not because I'm afraid of falling, but because of landing--hard.
Yeah, if it wasn't for the landing, falling wouldn't be so bad.
Great Steven Pressfield quote
Sorry that was the one I tried to put in the post but it didn't paste in for some reason. "The more important an activity is to your soul's evolution, the more resistance you will feel to it - the more fear you will feel." I loved it so much, I wrote a whole blog post about it! http://www.suzannahscully.com/2/post/2013/09/how-to-get-rid-of-feeling-stuck-once-and-for-all.html
