Android’s growth momentum means Facebook for Android needs to become its premier app. Facebook’s competition with Google might make that painful, but it needs to stick to its social layer strategy. I was informed by some app developers that the Android users are less likely to buy paid apps or upsell to an in app purchase. I can't confirm this although I'm sure there is some research out there.
