Alex Heimbach of Slate recommends this 11-minute look into Patton Oswalt:
Have you ever wanted to know what Patton Oswalt does when he’s not on stage (other than watch Louie and write about it for Slate)? Well, apparently he drives around and sits in hotel rooms. (He also tweets.)
Unexciting locations aside, this short documentary offers an insightful look into Oswalt’s creative process and his attitude toward stand-up as a profession. It’s part of Thrash Lab’s Rituals series, which has previously profiled Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy and the band Foster the People. The video focuses on the run-up to an Oswalt show at The Irvine Improv, and includes bits of his routine. Those are always worth watching.
I went to school with Patton Oswalt at the College of William and Mary.
I have to say, he has not changed much. He's just a genuine, funny guy with a lot of heart.
Is there anyone you _don't_ know, Adam? lol
I haven't talked with him since college so I doubt he remembers me. :)
