Actually, didn't Inception go five levels down?

Serving a bunch of Javascript once, caching and reusing it shouldn't be all that latent. Especially if you're using cached HTML templates and only ever needing to transport the data, not the markup.

In theory I agree with you.

However, NewTwitter was never fast in practice...
