Why do so many people make The Rains of Castamere into a sad, melancholy song? The song isn't supposed to be lamenting the demise of the Reynes, it's supposed to be praising Tywin Lannister for being such a badass. It's supposed to convey the message that if you cross Tywin he will utterly destroy you. He will wipe you and your entire house from existence and you will be forgotten except for the songs they sing about how Tywin crushed you. The Rains of Castamere is Tywin's Imperial March.
Why hasn't anyone done a "Rains of CATSamere" yet? You know, cats meowing the tune?
That would be funny. I will keep a lookout for one.
No cats yet. But I did find Jackie Evancho:
Life just got a little sweeter. Thank you.
Sigur Ros is ICELANDIC.
Sigur Rós (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈsɪːɣʏr ˈroːus] ( listen) sig-ər rohss [1]) is an Icelandic post-rock band fromReykjavík, which has been active since 1994. Known for its ethereal sound, frontman Jónsi Birgisson's falsettovocals, and the use of bowed guitar,[2] the band's music is also noticeable for its incorporation of classical andminimalist aesthetic elements. The band is named after Jónsi's sister Sigurrós Elín.[3]
So that's at least two Iceland connections on Game of Thrones. The other being The Mountain.
Three, as Iceland is known as the Land of Ice and Fire.
!!! Is that where GRRM got that from ???
