Great explanation and video of a top wooden roller coaster, with the designer of said coaster. "It's becoming more of a science all the time, less of an art."
I had never heard such a crisp description of what makes wooden coasters better:
"That put-through-a-blender sensation is a trademark of wooden coasters, and doesn’t happen by chance. Because they tend to be slower, wooden rides can have tighter twists and turns than steel ones without generating excessive G-forces on riders."
Two words: Cedar Point. :)
Never been there. Looking it up.
