"I played seven years without ever hitting the ball." ~ Mickey Mantle

"During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1700 times and walked maybe 1800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at bats a season. That means I played seven years without ever hitting the ball." -- Mickey Mantle, 1970 --

Yeah... I aspire to fail as successfully. ;)

Now that really puts things into perspective, now doesn't it!

Michael Jordan has a variation on this: "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

I was just about to mention MJ's quote, Mickey's quote totally reminded me of it!

Thanks for sharing this Adam...

I love that MJ knows how many times he missed a game winning shot.

wow, that is exactly what my dressage instructor said to me tonight--basically, can't succeed unless you fail. I had a few moments of extreme fail tonight!

Michael Jordan and Startup Accelerators don't succeed that much, either.
