It's interesting to note that you can have BOTH energy efficiency AND comfort if you have money.
Yes but you hippehs need to learn some maths. I pay an average of $50/month to heat my home with natural gas. How long will it take to recoup the cost of all those energy efficient mods? Even 5% of $412K -- the incremental extra cost over a standard remodel -- comes out to 35 years worth of heating costs.
...which is why we see so many homes in Silicon Valley installing solar panels.
It's not to be green. It's to save greenbacks.
