The social bookmarking service Delicious has changed hands twice over the last decade, while failing to attract a mainstream audience.

Now it is being sold again. Science Inc., a technology investment and advisory firm run by Michael Jones, the former chief executive of Myspace, is expected to announce on Thursday that it has bought Delicious to anchor a new portfolio of mobile content companies.

The deal is effectively a bet by Mr. Jones that he can reinvigorate a company that has seemed like a perpetual fixer-upper.

Stashed in: Delicious

Some notes:

1. Delicious has two million monthly active users submitting links.

2. Mike Jones wants to remove the advertising and focus on uses for the data.

Seems smart.

Science says Delicious is its first investment in companies that have data and mobile angles.

This could be good.
