Edward #Snowden supports #ReSetTheNet Campaign June 5th

Edward Snowden issued this statement via his attorney in support of Reset the Net:

"One year ago, we learned that the internet is under surveillance, and our activities are being monitored to create permanent records of our private lives — no matter how innocent or ordinary those lives might be.

So what is reset the Net about?

After Snowden leaked everything changed. A non-profit org called has been running various campaigns concerning Internet issues be it net neutrality, privacy or mass surveillance etc.  This is their campaign and as digital-tech activists I like what this org is about. Here is the skinny...accordingly to their campaign this is what they stating.

"Reset the Net is a global movement to take our privacy back and secure the Internet to defend against mass government surveillance,

The problem

The NSA is exploiting weak links in Internet security to spy on the entire world, twisting the Internet we love into something it was never meant to be: a panopticon.

The solutionWe can't stop targeted hacking, but we *can* stop mass surveillance, by building proven security into the everyday Internet.

The planFirst, get hundreds of sites & apps to add proven security (like SSL). Then on June 5, we'll run a splash screen *everywhere* to spread NSA-resistant privacy tools.

So we should just encourage people to use https more than they use http!
