What the what?! This is madness:
Using an article published inÂ NatureÂ magazine back in 1906, Bellos reveals this is the way you should actually cut your cake if you want it to stay fresh.
By cutting slices out the middle, it means you can push the remaining sections back together to preserve the cake.
Bellos even suggests holding it in place with rubber bands.
I like it, makes sense as far as maintaining moisture, only drawback I can see, is a lot of manhandling of the cake with someones mitts ;)
There has GOT to be a better way!
