Brilliant bananas!
It turns out that frozen bananas are good for more than just dipping in chocolate. If you freeze a banana until solid, then whiz it up in a blender or food processor, it gets creamy and a little gooey, just like custard ice cream.
I am here to testify that the Champion Juicer makes the best best best frozen banana puree. So smooth. It even has a special part that replaces the screen used in juicing just for frozen food.
Nifty. Do you add any mix-ins?
- Spoonful of peanut butter
- Drizzle of honey
- Handful of chocolate chips
- A few almonds
- Dollop of Nutella
- Scoop of cookie butter
- Tablespoon of cocoa powder
- Half a teaspoon of cinnamon, cardamom, or ginger
I was a purist...until NOW.
Haha, actually the honey sounds good.
Honey sounds real good.
So does cocoa, plus you know your microbiome wants it:
Avocado ice cream is awesome... and you can simply add that to the banana for a two item recipe.
Is there anything more prep to it than freezing it?
Peeling is recommended.
Rob, the addition of avocado sounds dreamy, because bananas alone are so sweet.
It's my all-time favorite, amazing hybrid-flavor!
Wait, banana-avocado is your all time favorite flavor?!
I have never heard of that flavor until now. Huh, today I learned something new.
Well, I wrote hybrid-flavor for ice cream for a reason, as it's not a pure flavor found in nature... that favorite goes to raspberries for me.
As far as processed flavors go, I'm partial to chocolate and/or dulce de leche (sweetened milk caramel) and sea salt...
