Google Ventures employs 50 people........... Eight of them investing partners.
Adam Rifkin stashed this in Startup Offices
Google Ventures wants to fund tech that changes the world. Karim Faris, VC partner says. "We're trying to take more risks than average VCs."
GV employs 50 people, 8 of them investing partners. The rest are specialists who work directly with startups in four departments: recruiting, engineering, marketing/PR and website design.
Google Ventures will invest $1 billion in startups over the next five years. It's averaging two investments per week, and currently has 100 portfolio companies, everything from cancer diagnostics (Foundation Medicine) to video chat (Airtime).
8 investing partners doing 100 deals per year? Not sure how that math works out....
I was wondering that too, Chris.
The math says every partner has to do a deal every month.
I'm guessing that means most of the investments are seed-stage (and thus don't require board seats and time commitments).
