Amazingly info-packed article on how we are looking at "suburbs" with a 20th century lens, which is also to say an American-centric lens. Levittown is over. Think about edge cities packed with high-rises, areas around new airports, shantytowns. Also realize that the more density there is in the city, the more sprawl there must be somewhere else. Suburbia today is defined more by government intention, private authoritarianism, lack of public spaces, and the need for regionalism than by white picket fences and big lawns.

Seems like suburbia is in the process of evolving into something better. Slowly.
