'Make It Popâ on Nickelodeon Veers Toward K-Pop
Halibutboy Flatface stashed this in Arts
Nickelodeon is pretty advanced in terms of ethnographic trends, so if they are pushing a show with two Asian and one ethnically ambiguous girl forming a K-Pop band in boarding school... you know Mickey Mouse Club is over.
The timing lines up: They probably started planning this show after Oppa Gangnam Style became the #1 YouTube video of all time and they realized the potential audience for a show like this is huge.
By the way Nickelodeon is owned by Viacom so watch for a Disney to come out with a show of its own.
