This looks dangerous!
As Montreal prepares for its 375th birthday, it looks like this Canadian city is going to go big… really big.
Event organizers at INBOX are referring to the project as Skying Montreal and they hope the event will be the serve as the centerpiece for the city’s birthday celebration. Currently, the plan is to gather 25 of world’s best freestyle skiers for a big air competition in February of 2017 and as of now event organizers are targeting the Olympic Stadium and more specifically, the Olympic Tower as the venue for the freestyle comp.
The tower itself, which will serve as the in-run for the jump, is a 574ft. behemoth that qualifies as the largest inclined structure in the world. After initial forays into whether or not the competition could safely take place on the structure, it looks like all systems are a go… at least to guinea pig the project in 2016. If all goes according to plan, look for a RedBull media circus to follow.
