Sunnyvale is Joyce's home.

California

> Drunkest city: San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara

> Pct of MSA adults binge or heavy drinking: 23.8%

> Pct. of state adults binge or heavy drinking: 17.2%

> Pct of driving deaths alcohol related: 31.3%

Of the 26 metro areas in California, San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara residents are the most likely to report above-moderate drinking habits. While the negative health consequences of heavy drinking are well acknowledged, metro areas reporting relatively high levels of binge and heavy drinking do not necessarily report poor health outcomes. Slightly more than 18% of San Jose area adult residents report fair or poor health, a lower percentage than the state’s proportion, but higher than the percentage of Americans reporting such poor health.

Panda! Don't make it sound like I'm personally responsible for the high rate of binge drinking in the metro San Jose area!

Pct of bicycle-related injuries ...?

Wow!  Almost one in five adult Californians binge or heavy drink?

Joyce, you're not. In fact I don't think of San Jose as drinkers at all.

There are hardly any bars of note in San Jose.

Geege I find it hard to believe a fifth of Californians heavy drink.
