Thanks for watching! I think it'll take a while (20 years) before we can re-write code in living/developes organisms. But that's not necessarily bad news. There are a lot of other ways to utilize genetics as a therapy until then. E.g. delivering DNA via retroviruses to muscle tissue, so that patients can have an injection once a year instead of eating a pill everyday (this is already being done). Modifying DNA in embryos is something I think is relatively near on the horizon though, although a huge ethical barrier must be overcome first.
