'Sane New World' ~ Ruby Wax. An excellent book on mindfulness. Her professonal comedic background combines with her own periods of depression and her Masters from Oxford in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy [MBCT][http://www.rubywax.net/sanenewworld.html
The Goodreads reviewers who did not like this book blamed the tone:
It's hard to mix advice and comedy.
It's interesting to compare the highest and lowest-rated reviews, no matter the Site. With this book, the same tones some readers lauded as conversational and 'relatable', others condemned as flippant and irreverent. And of course, the response from an individual reviewer depended much on what they're feeling/'going through' at that time. (And sometimes you can tell a book by its cover!)
Right! How the tone hits you depends on your mood.
