Reconsolidation is a process in which "existing memories are recalled and modified with new knowledge." The new study, led by Johns Hopkins University professor Pablo Celnik, demonstrated that reconsolidation is also key to learning motor skills, a process about which little was previously known.

"What we found is if you practice a slightly modified version of a task you want to master," said Celnik, "you actually learn more and faster than if you just keep practicing the exact same thing multiple times in a row."

So keep modifying the task so the brain continues to be challenged?

Yes, this is an IFLS article, but they do link back to the original study ( Here IF you have access ).

TL;DR version: Varying your routine helps you learn the task up to twice as fast. I've been practicing with my 1000 yard stare for months, and I feel I've improved, but I stick with the same scope (shortgaze) all of the time.

After reading this article I started using my Stillpiercer, Black Spindle, 1KS w/Ambush, Tamar-D w/ATA Scout and 1KS with Longview. Tried to rotate through them on all three characters. I'm already noticing more consistent head shots and drag-scopes (which I couldn't do at all before).

So if you're learning to snipe trying switching it up as much as possible, it could help. It is helping me.
