Branch Cofounder Returning to NYC Because ‘San Francisco is Just Too Nice’
Joyce Park stashed this in Tech biz
Stashed in: Silicon Valley!, Branch, Young Americans
I interviewed at a NYC based startup a couple years ago. After a full day of meetings with the team and a stop at the hotel, the CTO took me to a REALLY expensive artisanal cocktail lounge... the kind of place where they have special ice for each drink. By the time we got there at about 6:30, one of the devs had been there reading a book for a while. I think NYC is pretty nice! :)
He's 21, and he misses being the underdog: http://pandodaily.com/2012/03/27/why-branch-is-moving-back-to-new-york-city/
Only in our industry.
I'm not sure I get it... they were the one to beat, in Silicon Valley? Â
and that's what i hear: Â NYC run by 22 year old girls; SF where 30-year olds can live with self-esteem; LA like Chi, NYC, and SF (said one girl in the ad game...)
They were the one to beat? I never heard that.
I can see how a place run by 22 year old girls would have a certain appeal.
